GPD investigates voyeur case

Six more cases have emerged involving a Gainesville man arrested twice in connection with cameras illegally installed on laptop computers.

Craig Matthew Feigin, 23, who was first arrested by Gainesville Police in July, told police he had taken thousands of pictures, both clothed and naked, of two women using software and cameras he installed on their computers.

Since the cases were reported, three others have been investigated without result and three more are under investigation, GPD detective David Mayo said.

The case has been picked up by the State Attorney's Office, and a federal indictment has been placed on Feigin, GPD spokeswoman Summer Hallett wrote in an e-mail.

The contents of the cases are confidential until the investigation is finished, Assistant Attorney Frank Williams said.

According to GPD reports, the first woman to come forward found a camera installed in her laptop after she had allowed Feigin to fix it.

Hallett said Feigin told police he had installed cameras on eight or nine computers, and Mayo said more women might still come forward.

"With the amount of publicity this case has been receiving, we may receive more reports," Mayo said.
