Hungry woman breaks deli window, police say

A woman arrested Wednesday night in connection with a break-in at Jeff's NY Deli at 21 W. University Ave. told police she was hungry.

After a brick was thrown into the front window, creating $1,000 in damage, police surrounded the deli with officers and canine teams, a Gainesville Police report stated.

They arrested Tomeko Trisharia Anderson, 29, who was inside, the report stated.

Anderson told police that she was an employee of the deli and that she was hungry, and the owner would not mind if she went inside, the report stated.

A background check showed that Anderson had an outstanding warrant for a violation of probation, the report stated.
