A woman was issued a notice to appear in court Wednesday after she was seen with her hand in a Light The Night donation jar at the Gainesville Regional Airport, a Gainesville Police report stated.
The donations go toward a walk sponsored by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to raise money for cures, according to the Light the Night Web site.
Cpl. Leslie White issued the notice to Brenda Ann Cook, 48, the report stated.
Cook told police she knew it was wrong to take the money, but she wanted to take her mother to dinner, the report stated.
