A woman was arrested in Southeast Gainesville on Wednesday morning after police reported that she led them on a chase in a stolen car.

Yolanda Chavette Pagee Dean, 29, was arrested after the gray 2007 Mazda she was driving hit a curb and blew out two tires, according to Gainesville Police reports.

Murray Larrain Inabnett, who had originally been driving the car, told police that he pulled over and told Dean to get out of the car at 1000 S.E. Sixth Ave. When he stepped out of the car, he said Dean jumped into the driver's seat, the reports stated.

Inabnett was hit by the bumper of the car as it drove away, the reports stated.

Police followed the car for several blocks at speeds up to 80 mph until the driver lost control and tried to flee on foot, the reports stated.

Police arrested Dean, who they found had a crack pipe in her pocket and no valid driver's license, according to the report.
