Ticketmaster may very well be the worst misnomer this side of "Big Ten football." They've mastered nothing.

While trying to order Southeastern Conference Championship Game tickets last night, we failed to recognize anything remotely masterful about the online ticketing system - again.

The first time we dealt with this garbage was for the UF-Georgia game three weeks ago. At least then our dissatisfaction stemmed from not even having a chance to buy a ticket.

Sure we had to wait for hours - through connection time-outs and multiple bathroom breaks - but at least we weren't given false hope. We can deal with rejection as long as the system plays by the rules.

This time around, things were a little different.

This time the system fooled us into believing we actually had a shot at watching the Gators march to glory in Atlanta.

We got through in a jiffy this time. No staring at loading screens for three and a half episodes of "South Park." We were the-test-came-back-negative excited.

Type in your UFID, instructed the all-knowing Ticketmaster. Correctly type the phrase in the box, the Ticketmaster continued. Have fun trying to find the U.S. in our drop-down list of countries, said the almighty.

Well, we followed directions exactly as our kindergarten teachers had taught us. The reward? Nothing. The Ticketmaster system encountered a problem.

After repeating steps one through three, we still got shafted, but not because of an error. All of the tickets were sold out.

This defeat was devastating. We were so close we could smell the downtown Atlanta sewer funk. Now, we'll have to settle once again for the savory scent of Wing Zone, Natty and disappointment.
