A Regional Transit System bus hit a John Deere Gator vehicle at the intersection of Museum Road and Newell Drive Thursday morning.

UF Police Department Sgt. Eddie King said there were no major damages and no one was hurt.

"Both vehicles were headed east on Newell and (the utility vehicle driver) did not see the bus," King said.

Passengers were held in the bus awaiting UPD for about 10 minutes and were required to fill a form with name, age, sex and comments from RTS bus driver Aretha Aycox. Veda Gadhiy, 19, usually takes bus route 35, but she decided to take route 12 to get to class faster.

"I was pretty mad, I had to get to class on time and felt the bus driver could have been nicer," said Gadhiy.

Gadhiy said the bus driver did not ask if the passengers were hurt or if the other driver was okay.

Both vehicles did not require towing and were left on their own after reports were completed.

Ashley Jamieson, 21, said her first thought was that the bus had hit a person.

"I was shocked. I asked myself did this just happen? And I literally put my hand over my mouth," she said.
