The dean of UF's College of Nursing won't be leaving for Georgia after all.

Kathleen Long, one of three finalists for the Georgia Southern University presidency, lost the job to Brooks A. Keel, an administrator and professor at Louisiana State University, according to a release.

The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia made its decision on Monday, the release stated.

Asked if Long is considering any other jobs, Tracy Wright, spokeswoman for the nursing college wrote in an e-mail: "Dr. Long is very happy with her role as Dean of the College of Nursing and as an Assoc[i]ate Provost at UF. At the moment she has no plans to seek alternate positions."

Long has been the dean and a professor in the nursing college since 1995.
