Three banned from campus for trying to take prank pictures

Three Santa Fe College students with a boat and a blow-up doll were banned from campus over the weekend when they tried to shoot some prank pictures on Lake Alice.

The students also had candles, a lighter and beef kidneys inside the boat, according to police.

When first approached by police in front of KinderCare near Corry Village, the students said they were headed for the river.

With the boat sitting on the ground in front of them, police told the students there were no rivers in walking distance.

The students then told police they were headed for the Santa Fe River but later admitted they planned to take prank pictures on Lake Alice, according to a University Police Department report.

They were then banned from campus and told they would be arrested if they came back, so they loaded the boat back into their pickup truck and left.
