Blake Mycoskie, founder of TOMS Shoes, will speak at UF on Nov. 4.

Mycoskie's company is known for its One for One campaign, under which it donates one pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair of shoes purchased from the company.

So far, the company has donated about 150,000 pairs of shoes and plans to donate another 300,000 in 2009, according to its Web site.

Mycoskie will speak at 8 p.m. at the Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. The speech will be free and open to the public.

The event is sponsored by Accent, the Center for Leadership and Service and the UF Office of Sustainability, among others.

Tickets are available at the Phillips Center box office and the Constans Theatre box office on the Reitz Union Colonnade.

The speech caps off a week of TOMS-related events, including a TOMS documentary being shown at the Reitz Union Auditorium on Wednesday and a Style Your Sole Event on the Reitz Union Colonnade on Nov. 3. where students can decorate a pair of TOMS shoes. Shoes will be for sale at the event, or students can bring their own.
