alligatorSports Fantasy Challenge: Week 10

The playoffs are set:

Ben Volin (Rollin' with Volin, 8-3) vs. Randall Abbott (Dead RAbbotts, 6-5)

Bobby Callovi (Jerry Hughes for Heisman, 8-3) vs. Zach Rogan (FBS Zach6-5)

(Writer) Phil Kegler (Phil on the Hill) def. (W) Mike McCall (Skip's No Quarter Swashbuckler) 168-108:

Phil managed to knock Mike out of a playoff spots, but even a 168-point effort wasn't enough to give Phil on the Hill an edge in the tiebreaker. Ole Miss RB Dexter McCluster led the way with a monster 56-point performance with Missouri WR Danario Alexander chipping in 38.

Both of these teams finished 6-5, the same record as third and fourth place, but the CBS tiebreakers denied them.

Mike DiFerdinando (DiFer) def. (W) Kyle Maistri (Alligator Army) 84-80:

The two lowest scores of the week squared off and sadly there had to be a winner. DiFer got the edge thanks to a 35-point showing by Stanford RB Toby Gerhart.

DiFer was one of five teams to finish 6-5 but failed to make the playoffs. Alligator Army never managed to get over injury and apathy and finished the year 2-9.

(Reader) Zach Rogan (FBS Zach) def. (R) Dave Medoff (Fourth & Short) 133-94:

In a must-win situation, Zach got a big day from Arkansas QB Ryan Mallett (44 pts) as well as Alabama RB Mark Ingram and Purdue WR Keith Smith (21 pts). Those three outscored every one of Fourth & Short's players, who were also hurt by the use of a defense on a bye week.

Zach is one of three readers to make our four-team playoff, finishing the regular season 6-5. Dave had the distinction of finishing for last along with Kyle at 2-9.

(R) Joshua Levy (Joshua Levy) def. (R) Ben Volin (Rollin' with Volin) 171-97:

Rollin' with Volin continues to show some chinks in the armor down the stretch although it did have to go up against the highest total of the week. Joshua got a big boost from Oregon RB LaMichael James (33 points). Ben managed just one player of 20 points ore more (Missouri QB Blaine Gabbert, 32 pts) compared to five for Joshua.

It was too little too late for Joshua Levy, who finished 5-6. Rollin' with Volin will have to recover with a big semifinals matchup approaching this weekend.

(W) Bobby Callovi (Jerry Hughes for Heisman) def. (R) Randall Abbott (Dead RAbbotts) 125-107:

Randall could've made a playoff spot a sure thing with a win, but he managed to edge out Mike McCall for the fourth playing spot by having 38 more points in his season total.

Bobby continued to finish the year strong behind a balanced performance from his team. He had five guys score 19 points or more, with none topping 25. Randall got 31 points from Clemson RB C.J. Spiller, but it wasn't enough.

Both teams, however, qualified for the four-team playoffs.
