More than 20 students attended an open forum Thursday to give their input about the Reitz Union's future.
Visiting architects from Gould Evans of Tampa, Fla., and WTW Architects of Pittsburgh, Pa., discussed the strengths and weaknesses of the union with students.
"Our role in this is to investigate what goals the students and university have for the union," said Richard F. Bamburak, a senior principal architect for WTW. "Everyone would like improvement."
Student representatives from from organizations like the Reitz Union Board Entertainment and Student Government, including Student Body President Jordan Johnson, were present.
One student from the Greek community said the union doesn't represent certain organizations and doesn't have enough space in the Center for Student Activities & Involvement, which is located on the third floor of the union.
Students also brought up the issue of performing arts because the union doesn't have any practice areas.
Kyle Wilson, a UF sophomore, was a major supporter of this.
"It sucks to dance outside," Wilson said.
