No one will be laughing in the O’Connell Center Friday night.

Comedian Dane Cook has canceled his performance, citing “recent personal matters” as his reason for the cancellation.

Cook also canceled his other performances on his Florida tour, which would have been in  Tallahassee, Tampa and West Palm Beach, according to a press release on his website.

“I appreciate all the support from my fans in Florida, and I promise you all that I will be back soon,” Cook said in a statement.

Those seeking refunds for their tickets can get their money back by returning to the place where they purchased them, according to the release.

A notice on Ticketmaster’s website told people that the money will be automatically refunded to students who purchased tickets through the site.

O’Connell Center representatives said they had no additional information.

The canceled Florida dates were scheduled to kick off the tour.

The tour will instead begin in Syracuse, N.Y., on Oct. 26.

The Associated Press reported last week that Cook’s half-brother, Darryl McCauley, pleaded guilty to embezzling money from Cook’s account.

He was sentenced to up to six years in prison.
