Feat Photo: The Power of Pink

Tom Hand signs a Pink Heals firetruck with the word survivor under his name Thursday at Bo Diddley downtown Plaza. A firefighter with Gainesville's Fire Rescue Station 2, Hand has been fighting cancer for the past 10 1/2 months. The idea for Pink Heals firetruck began in Arizona with one truck, $3,000 and the hopes of spreading awareness. There are now about 30 trucks that tour the U.S. raising money from shirt sales to support the fleet and their cause. Each Pink Heals truck is covered in writing in honor of any man, woman or child who is fighting, who diagnosed with, or who has died from cancer.
