Patricia Telles-Irvin, vice president for student affairs, announced Monday she is leaving her post to accept the same position at Northwestern University.

Telles-Irvin is the second administrator to resign this month. It was announced earlier this month that Senior Vice President for Administration and Business Ventures Brian Beach would be leaving his position for a job in the private sector. His last day is today.

Telles-Irvin, who has been at UF  since 2004, said she was drawn to Northwestern by the people and the university’s “exciting visions,” as laid out by Northwestern President Morton Schapiro. Telles-Irvin expressed satisfaction in her time spent at UF.

“I’m really going to miss the University of Florida,” she said. “It’s been a long journey but I feel I’m leaving it in a good place.”

Telles-Irvin’s last day will be March 25. She is tentatively scheduled to start her new position on July 1.
