It's that time of the year again: Gainesville City Commission election season.
For those of you who don't follow city races, election season is a lot like football season. By the time the championship has rolled around, it's already time to start pre-season training.
Summer is the only time it isn't election season, and even that's debatable.
Right now, there are four candidates registered for the At-Large 1 seat and two registered for the District 1 seat.
Both incumbents have reached their term limits, so the seats are wide open.
The candidates, listed alphabetically, are as follows:
At-Large 1:
-James Ingle, a strong supporter of working-class issues and an electrician.
- Donna Lutz, a University of Florida alumna and a real estate agent.
- Darlene Pifalo, a Gainesville resident since 1985 and a real estate agent.
-Lauren Poe, former City Commissioner for District 2.
District 1:
- Armando Grundy, an Army veteran who was appointed to the Alachua County Charter Review Commission in 2009.
- Yvonne Hinson-Rawls, a Gainesville Housing Authority commissioner.
