Crime on campus from Oct. 16 to Oct. 26 was heavy in terms of theft and also included a few narcotics-related violations, according to the University Police Department's campus crime log.

Here were the numbers.

Larceny:

• 11 instances of larceny at a building, including a pending case at Hume West, which is a residence hall on campus

• Four instances of bicycle theft

• One instance of burglary

• One instance of larceny/other at Shands at UF (pending)

 

Drug and Alcohol Violations:

• There were two instances of narcotics violations, with one resulting in an arrest and the other in a juvenile civil citation. The latter case occurred at the P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School at UF.

• Two cases of narcotics equipment possession, one of which was at Rawlings Hall and resulted in a notice to appear, while the other was also at P.K. Yonge and resulted in a juvenile civil citation

• Two instances of driving under the influence of alcohol, both of which occurred on West University Avenue and resulted in arrests

• One instance of a liquor law violation on Fraternity Row, resulting in a notice to appear

 

Miscellaneous:

• There was one instance of robbery by sudden snatching, which occurred at Shands at UF and resulted in an arrest. To read more about this incident, view this UPD press release.

• One instance of forgery/counterfeiting at Criser Hall (pending)

• One instance of fraud due to the illegal use of a credit card (pending)

• One case of a disturbance or breach of the peace at Shands at UF, resulting in a notice to appear

• One instance of criminal mischief at Criser Hall (pending)

• One instance of resisting an officer without violence, resulting in an arrest

• One instance of trespassing after receiving a warning at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center, resulting in an arrest

• One instance of possession of a forged driver's license, resulting in a sworn complaint

• One pending case of disseminating harassing or threatening phone calls or emails (pending)
