10-year-old bicyclist taken to hospital after being hit by a car

A 10-year-old boy was taken to Shands at UF Wednesday afternoon after being hit by a car while riding his bike.

Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Lt. Patrick Riordan said Jennifer Webb, 19, was driving a red Chevy Equinox when she hit the boy near the intersection of Southwest 66th Street and Archer Road.

The boy was taken to Shands at UF, but his condition is unknown.

Riordan said charges against Webb are pending.
