Police responded to a 911 call reporting an armed man at Brandywine Apartments on Wednesday night.

Cpl. Angelina Valuri, public information officer for the Gainesville Police Department, said a Brandywine resident called police after he said someone knocked at his door. When he opened it, a black man shot at him, he told police.

Valuri said the resident waited about 30 minutes after the gunshot before placing his 911 call.

No one was injured, she said

Police went to the apartment complex to look for the armed man, but made no arrests as of press time.
