Friday is last day to order caps and gowns for University of Florida graduation

Graduating seniors have two days to order their caps and gowns for spring graduation.

Friday is the deadline to order graduation regalia from the UF Bookstore. Seniors can rent online through Gator 1 Central, according to the service’s website.

Caps and gowns cost about $40 to rent. A $5 late fee is applied for each day the cap and gown are kept after 5 p.m. May 7. The maximum fee is $25.

Before students can complete the order, they must enter height and weight information. They will also be able to indicate how to pronounce their names if they want.

Students who order after Friday will have to pay a $10 late fee. The fee will increase to $15 starting April 20.

Caps and gowns will be available for pickup beginning April 23. Seniors may have someone else pick the regalia up for them as long as that person has the senior’s Gator 1 Card.

Graduate students are required to wear a hood, but they can choose to purchase or rent it.

Students who want to graduate at the end of the semester but have not registered can fill out a late degree application on the registrar’s website.

Graduations will take place from April 27 to May 6.
