Don’t let family vacations come to an end

As I’m getting older, I’m beginning to realize that these family vacations are memories I will always hold near and dear to my heart.

When I was younger, each year my family and I went on many family vacations. While some turned out to be disasters (camping in a thunderstorm in the middle of nowhere), most of our trips turned out to be pretty worthwhile.

As I’m getting older, I’m beginning to realize that these family vacations are memories I will always hold near and dear to my heart. I’ve also realized that there probably won’t be too many more family vacations due to all of us growing up. Just think, in a few years (hopefully more than a few), we’ll all be planning vacations for our own families. This both frightens and excites me.

Given that, I say that instead of spending summer with just your friends or stressing out over internships and part-time jobs, you should consider gathering your family up for one more memorable vacation together. Before you know it, you’ll be gone and out of the house for good. Why not spend this summer with the ones you love?

I would bet that your family would be more than happy to take a few days off to get everyone together — so start planning! Even day trips count as vacations, so if you can’t afford to leave town or out of state, look for fun things to do in near or around your hometown. I’m sure there’s something exciting going on where you live.
