Beach it like a celebrity

College budgets mean college-budget vacations, and while those can be a lot of fun, don’t you wonder what it would be like to travel if money was no object? If you didn’t spend your precious vacation time searching for cheap restaurants. If you didn’t have to pray that your debit card will work every time you use it. If you could travel like a celebrity. I do, too. You probably can’t afford a celeb-style vacation, but at least you can dream about one. So, here are top celeb vacation destinations.

1. Necker Island. Sounds like the perfect place for necking. Kisses, anyone? And while I’m sure many celebrity couples smooch away on the island, it’s more known for its bright blue water and serene beaches. It’s a private island owned by Sir Richard Branson that’s part of the British Virgin Islands. Sometimes, celebrities just choose to go there; other times, Branson invites them. So, you may want to become famous before heading there, so he invites you, and you don’t have to pay. Then again, if you’re famous, money will be no object for you.
2. Saint-Tropez. Some of Hollywood’s most famous such as Kate Hudson, Tom Cruise and Catherine Zeta-Jones have vacationed here. Located in the French Riveria, this resort town became famous largely because of French model and actress Brigitte Bardot.
3. Lake Como. Another beachy, resort area. The Lake Como region offers many small towns for celebs to wander around and because of their tiny populations, it makes it pretty easy for celebrities to have privacy. Even George Clooney has a house there, so if you get to go, maybe you’ll meet him.
4. Maui. In case you haven’t realized, celebrities love traveling to beaches, despite the fact that most live in California. But I guess that’s part of being famous; you never go to the beach closest to where you live. Owen Wilson and Oprah live in Maui for at least part of the year.
5. Mykonos. Live it up like the Kardashians; party, sightsee and relax on the beautiful Greek island of Mykonos. Kim made headlines everywhere because she even showed off her pregnant belly while sporting a bikini there. Gasp!
