From mobile banking to television…yes, there really is an app for everything. Why not use these apps to further your education? Here’s a list of the top 5 apps that every college student should have.

myHomework: This FREE app helps to keep track of all homework assignments. Assignments are tracked by due date and color coded for clarity. With the accessibility of  the cell phone, students will never have to constantly worry about forgetting an assignment, as their phone will always gently remind them to stay focused and organized!

Evernote: This FREE app is an award winning note taker. With the capabilities to record voice memos, take text notes, capture photos, and access web pages, you’re sure to be a successful student. Another plus students receive from this app is its availability. Most students are attached to their phones and with this app, they can be attached to their class notes!

Sleep Cycle Alarm Clock: In this $0.99 app, cutting-edge technology meets student’s most important resource, sleep. Using the accelerometer of the iPhone, this app tracks movements during sleep to gather data about the quality of sleep a student is receiving each night. It identifies which stage of sleep the student is in and wakes the student up when they are in the lightest stage of sleep for easier mornings. The app wakes you up within a 30 minute window before its set alarm time.

Exam Support with Andrew Johnson: This $2.99 app is definitely worth the money. The app is simply a guided audio meditation resource that seeks to help students calm down before testing. The goal of the app is to help students overcome test anxiety and, with great reviews, it proves to give confidence and relaxation to even the most anxious of test takers!

Graphing Calculator by Appcylon LLC: This $1.99 app is perfect for all college students. Regardless of year or major, it is highly probable that most students will be using a graphing calculator at some point in the semester. Graphing calculators are expensive and can cost hundreds of dollars. They are bulky and awkward to carry along to class and study sessions. Why not download this relatively inexpensive app and never have to worry about bringing along that bulky Texas Instruments thing ever again?
