Is she the "good wife" or just desperate?

Huma Abedin is the wife of Anthony Weiner, former U.S. congressman who recently conceded in the running for New York City mayor on Sept. 10.

At first we admired her for believing in her husband and supporting him through the consequences of his wrong decisions—sending sexual pictures of himself to women he met on Twitter.

He denied doing it, said he was hacked.

He wasn’t hacked.

But then he did it again. And she forgave him again.

The first time it happened, Abedin received world wide praise. She was the “good wife” as she stood by her husband’s side as he ran for office.

When he did it again, the world had enough. People called her stupid, or opportunistic and overly ambitious for continuing to support him for her political career.

Abedin is no low-life herself for her to be clinging on to a man who can’t be trusted. He is the father of her child though.

She is in politics too. At 20-years-old, she participated in the coveted White House internship. Abedin holds a degree from Washington State University. She has worked in the highest levels of the public and private sector. She is a top staffer for Hillary Clinton.

Hillary Clinton is her boss. Enough said.

The woman she spends a considerable amount of time with is Clinton. Clinton also forgave her husband, Bill Clinton, for his notorious affair with Monica Lewinsky.

The story is similar.

In 1995, Lewinsky, a graduate of Lewis & Clark College, was an intern at the White House during Bill Clinton’s first term. She developed a personal relationship with him. Hillary Clinton forgave her husband.

Clearly, White House interns have troubled relationships. Sometimes they meddle with the first lady’s husband. Sometimes they try their hardest to forgive and forget their husband and stick on to him, while the rest of the world mocks them.

Weiner likes to sext. We don’t know why. Maybe he had a rough childhood. Maybe he doesn’t eat right, causing him to have mood swings that prompt him to whip out his phone and send a picture of himself to another 21-year-old following him on Twitter.

It’s the internet, how much do you trust a receiver is going to keep a sext from Anthony Weiner a secret.

Weiner has a problem. He’d rather pose on the internet as Carlos Danger, risking his reputation while he’s running for New York City mayor for 2013. He’s also risking his marriage with his wife, the mother of his son.

Abedin may have more pain tolerance than we do, causing her to be an outrageously forgiving person. She has her boss, Hillary Clinton to look up to. Weiner is also, unfortunately, the father of her son.

It’s those reasons, combined with Abedin’s desperation—she’s desperately in love with Weiner.

Realistically speaking, if she wants to show her love for him, she needs to go beyond supporting him at press conferences. She needs to find the best couples therapists and psychiatrists in New York City.

In an ideal world, her husband would realize how good she is and how much she loves him. And be the best father to the mother of his son.
