During the offseason, Casey Prather has channeled his inner Dr. Seuss.

Prather, a family, youth and community sciences major, has been volunteering as a teacher’s assistant at Littlewood Elementary School in Gainesville.

The 6-foot-6 senior forward said he read “The Cat in the Hat” to the kids a few days ago. He admitted to reporters Tuesday that his favorite Dr. Seuss book growing up was “Green Eggs and Ham.”

“That was my book right there,” he said.

Prather does not envision himself becoming a teacher in the future, but rather a mentor figure to children.

“I just like being involved with children,” he said. “It’s very impactful when I can.”
