Where to sip a latte while studying: part 2

Latte
Latte

Over the summer I wrote a post about coffeehouses in Gainesville where students go to study and stay caffeinated. Over the past few months I’ve had the chance to visit some more local coffee shops. Here is a list of my favorites:

Volta Coffee, Tea & Chocolate

Volta is a downtown coffee shop with a modern and urban feel. It has a wall of windows and a sleek, chrome-accented espresso bar. The drinks and pastries are a little pricey, but they are great quality and you can tell the baristas put care into making the drinks. I had a latte and a cherry almond cream scone (which was one of the best scones I’ve ever had) for $6.09.

Coffee Culture

Coffee Culture has two Gainesville locations, one on 13th Street and one on Newberry Road. I visited the 13th Street location and ordered a hot chai latte, which I really enjoyed. There were a few other people quietly doing work in the cafe. Coffee Culture is a good place to go when you want a calm atmosphere where you can concentrate.

Radical Press Coffee Collective

Radical Press is a nonprofit coffee shop located downtown with a focus on sustainability and providing organic vegan products. They serve a variety of espresso drinks, coffee, teas and baked goods. The coffee shop is located inside the Civic Media Center, and there is indoor seating and a bright outdoor courtyard. Radical Press is one of the most unique coffee places you’ll find in Gainesville.
