Florida’s 2015 class has rapidly expanded in the last week.

On Wednesday, Camrin Knight, a tight end and outside linebacker from Tallahassee Lincoln High, announced via Twitter that he was committing to Florida.

Knight is the fifth commitment of the 2015 class, which has picked up three verbal commitments in the last six days. Wide receiver Deondre Farrier, a Lake Nona native, committed on Friday, and wide receiver Tristan Payton, from Jacksonville First Academy, announced his verbal commitment on Monday.

As a junior at Lincoln, Knight averaged 16 yards per catch and scored three touchdowns.

Florida is in desperate need of playmakers at tight end and wide receiver. To address that need, the Gators signed three wide receivers and two tight ends in their 2014 class.

Florida’s tight ends made a minimal impact in UF’s 4-8 season.

Clay Burton recorded his only reception of 2013 in the last game of the season against FSU, and his backup, Tevin Westbrook, had only three catches for 30 yards.

Sophomore Kent Taylor transferred to Kansas following the 2013 season, and Colin Thompson, a four-star recruit from the 2011 class, has seen the field only three times in his career due to injuries.
