UF’s student senate unanimously elected Sen. Kevin Doan for the newest member-at-large position for the replacement and agenda committee during it’s June 3 meeting.
Doan previously worked with the budget committee before ascending to the replacement and agenda committee.
“I promise I will, to the best of my abilities, keep fighting for what makes this senate and this university so great," he said
Sen. Davis Bean, chair of the budget and appropriations committee, called Doan "one of the best representatives of this senate outside of these chambers."
UF Student Body President Cory Yeffet also spoke to the senators about the Florida legislature funding Newell Hall and the presidential search process, in which he and former UF Student Body President Christine Bonarrigo are involved.
"We want to make sure that we are all well equipped and that the students are involved in the process," Yeffet said.
Student Senate Bill 2014-1039, honoring the presidential search committee, was tabled because the authors wanted to review the context of the bill.
