UF student charged with public masturbation arrested for domestic battery

A UF student, who was also arrested for public masturbation early last week, was found arguing with his now ex-girlfriend.

Eric Cody Andrew Moxam, 18, from last week’s UF Alert, was arrested just after midnight on Thursday on charges of simple battery, according to a Gainesville Police arrest report.

The incident occurred at the 400 block of Southwest 10th Street where a GPD officer was in the area checking on a car that was parked half way in a parking spot and the road, as if someone left it there in a hurry.

While the officer was checking out the car, he heard a woman repeatedly scream, “Don’t touch me!”

Moxam’s girlfriend for the past three years was found outside Moxam’s apartment. She told the officer they have been living together since August of 2013, but they recently broke up.

She was inside the apartment gathering her things when Moxam began to argue with her over the break-up. He allegedly grabbed her by the arms and tried to push her out of the apartment.

Moxam told officers he grabbed his girlfriend, but was adamant that he never hurt her.

Moxam was booked into the Alachua County Jail at 1 a.m. Thursday. As of press time, no bond is set.
