Have you ever been standing in line in Starbucks and heard someone order some unusual drink that is definitely not on the menu? Maybe they show their phone to the barista at the register and then the barista starts furiously typing on the register, creating what seems to be a pretty complex order. You, my friends, have just witnessed someone ordering from the Starbucks Secret Menu. With over 100 different recipes and growing each and every day with new recipes from Starbucks baristas and customers, this website is sprawling with interesting and unique recipes to try out. I have not had the pleasure of trying every item on this menu, but I do have some personal favorites. A word of warning though: Please don’t try to order any of these drinks by name only– instead show them the recipes which can be found on the website.

Frappuccinos

Frappuccinos, by far, make up the majority of the drink creations on this menu. With everything from Cinnamon Roll frappuccinos to Honey Nut Cheerios frappuccinos- if you can imagine it, it’s probably there. One of my personal favorites is the Caramel Cookie Bar Frappuccino (essentially a Twix Frappuccino). It’s a Caramel Frappuccino with hazelnut syrup, java chips, blended in whipped cream, caramel sauce, and mocha sauce. I was surprised in how much it did remind me of a Twix bar. It’s one of my new favorites! For all of you Potterheads there is the Butterbeer Frappuccino, which is a Crème Frappuccino base with caramel syrup, toffee nut syrup and caramel drizzle. I haven’t had the chance to try it yet, but I am looking forward to tasting it.

Lattes

One of my new favorite drinks at Starbucks is a latte called The Three Cs. It is a cinnamon dolce latte with mocha syrup and caramel syrup. I really enjoyed the perfect blend of cinnamon, chocolate and caramel, and applaud the contributor who came up with it. It’s a wonderful treat to warm you up during the winter!

Refreshers

I was never a big fan of the Starbucks refreshers. I didn’t dislike them, but would much rather order a Frappuccino- then I tried the secret menu refreshers.

One of my favorites is called Love on the Rocks. It’s a berry hibiscus refresher with apple juice, raspberry syrup and a splash of passion iced tea. It’s very cool and refreshing, which makes it a perfect summer drink. It’s also highly addictive, so I would recommend getting at least a grande.

I also enjoyed the Fruit Punch Refresher, which is a Valencia orange refresher with raspberry and peach syrup. It had a nice blend of sweetness and tartness, and I enjoyed every sip of it.

With three Starbucks on campus alone, it’s nice to have more options besides the regular menu when you need that extra caffeine boost. I know that with so many creative choices, I’ll be ordering off of the Secret Menu for a long time to come.
