The Florida track and field team kicked off the outdoor season on Saturday at the UCF Black and Gold Challenge in Orlando.

The throwing trio of Jayla Bostic, Lloydricia Cameron and Jontavia Dykes competed for the Gators at the UCF Track and Soccer Complex.

Cameron and Dykes, both of whom making their outdoor debuts, finished first and second in the discus toss, respectively.

Cameron’s event winning throw measured at 49.22 meters, while Dykes set a personal record with a 46.55-meter hurl.

All three of the Gators’ competitors took place in the hammer throw. The senior Bostic led the way for Florida with a second-place finish (53.35-meters), while the freshmen duo of Cameron and Dykes marked respective fourth (50.16) and 14th-place (38.04) finishes.
