Gainesville Police arrested a local man early Friday morning for reportedly having a cup of marijuana in his car and 6 grams of heroin in his butt.

About 1 a.m. Friday, police stopped Mikel Henry Green II, 24, after he reportedly stopped his car too far in front of a stop line at the intersection of Northeast Second Street and Northeast 23rd Avenue.

When the officer approached the vehicle, a strong scent of weed came from the car, according to the report. Upon searching Green’s vehicle, police reportedly found a plastic cup with 6 grams of weed and a small scale on the floorboard on the driver’s side.

Officers found an additional half of a gram of loose weed in Green’s front-right pants’ pocket, according to the report.

Police also found 6 grams of heroin in a plastic baggie between Green’s buttocks, according to the report.

Green told officers both the heroin and the weed belonged to him, the report said.

Green could not be reached for comment as of press time.

Police arrested Green on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of less than 20 grams of cannabis, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities took Green to the Alachua County Jail where he was released just before 10 p.m. Friday after paying a $10,000 bond.
