UF middle blocker Rhamat Alhassan swings for a kill attempt during Florida's 3-0 win against Texas A&M on Oct. 3, 2015, in the O'Connell Center.

Five Florida volleyball players have been named AVCA All-Americans for the 2015 season.

Sophomore middle blocker Rhamat Alhassan was tabbed a first-team All-American, while junior right-side hitter Alex Holston earned third-team honors. Senior setter Mackenzie Dagostino, senior outside hitter Ziva Recek and sophomore outside hitter Carli Snyder were named honorable mention All-Americans.

The 6-foot-4 Alhassan ranks second and is tied for eighth in the nation in blocks per set (1.62) and hitting percentage (.422), respectively, just a year after she paced the nation in hitting percentage.

In becoming more of an offensive weapon this season, Alhassan tallied 3.17 kills per set after notching 2.66 last year. The Glenarden, Maryland, native’s first-team selection is her second career All-America honor after being deemed a second-team selection in 2014.

Holston took a step back this season in a number of statistical categories, but still earned her third All-America selection of her career.

The Olney, Maryland, native was a first-team choice as a sophomore last season and was an honorable mention as a freshman in 2013.

Holston led the Gators in kills per set despite the number falling from 3.83 last season to 3.26 this year. However, her passing numbers improved, as she recorded 1.72 digs per set after registering 1.36 last season.

A third-team selection last season, Dagostino tallied 11.38 assists per set this year, down just a tick from her 11.50 her junior year. But the 5-foot-10 Tampa native improved as a blocker, notching 0.84 blocks per set, second on the team to Alhassan.

Recek earns her third All-America honor after racking up 2.68 kills per set this season. The Kočevje, Slovenia, native was an honorable mention in 2013 and 2012 as well, while also earning the AVCA National Freshman of the Year award in 2012.

Snyder takes home the first All-America honor of her career after holding down the back row with Recek. The Macomb, Michigan, native notched 2.42 kills per set this season.
