Police arrested a UF student Saturday night after they said he drove his Mazda off a small brick wall near the Hub.

At about 11:30 p.m., Seth Jacob Voigt, 27, stood on the Reitz Union North Lawn and told police he planned to call an Uber after driving over the 2-foot brick wall.

Shannon Poage watched Voigt drive his car over the wall and walk away, according to the report. Poage, a UF student, then called the police.

On Sunday, the wall was left chipped and scratched. Pieces of brick lied scattered nearby.

Police said Voigt was drunk when they found him, and that he later registered .177 and .172 on a breath test, which is two times the legal limit, according to the report.

Voigt is listed as a student on UF’s online directory.

When police asked him about the accident, Voigt said he drove over the wall, parked his car and planned to call an Uber, according to the report.

It is unknown how Voigt made it on top of the wall.

Neither Voigt nor Poage could be reached for comment as of press time.

Police arrested Voigt on charges of hit and run and DUI with property damage. Authorities took him to the Alachua County Jail, where he was released Sunday on a $3,500 bond.
