Police arrested a Gainesville man early Friday morning after they said he shot his gun at a moving car.

At about 7 p.m. Friday, Jharen Anthony Sneed, 26, pointed a gun at two people on Southeast 25th Terrace, according to a police report.

He then stepped into his Hyundai and drove away.

The two people followed Sneed in their car, hoping to record his license plate, according to the report.

Sneed later noticed the car and fired the gun at his rear windshield, sending several bullets toward the other car, according to the report.

His followers then stopped in the 2200 block of NW Eighth Ave. after spotting a police officer, according to the report.

Their car had a bullet hole in the windshield.

WIth a description of Sneed’s car and a few numbers from his license plate, police tracked the car to its registered address, where his mother lives.

After police arrived, they noticed Sneed leaving in a white Jeep, according to the report.

Sneed was arrested, and witnesses later identified him in a photo lineup.

The Hyundai with its shattered windshield was found in the backyard, and the gun was discovered inside, according to the report.

Police arrested Sneed on two charges of attempted murder and took him to the Alachua County Jail where, as of press time, he remains in lieu of a $300,000 bond.
