Kayla Susan Strunk, 29, was following closely behind another car in the Taco Bell drive-thru on the corner of Northwest 23rd Avenue and Northwest 13th Street at about 1:35 a.m., according to a police report. When the woman asked Strunk to back up her vehicle, Strunk punched the woman and pulled her hair.

A Taco Bell employee tried to stop Strunk, but Strunk scratched the employee under her left eye, according to the report. The employee called 911 while Strunk drove away, and she reported Strunk’s licence plate number, vehicle description and a physical description of Strunk to police.

An officer tried to pull over Strunk, but she continued to drive for several blocks before she was stopped on the 2100 block of 10th Street, according to the report. She tried to walk away when officers told her to stop.

Strunk rolled on the ground to avoid officers placing her in handcuffs during her arrest, according to the report. She screamed profanities at the police and woke up someone in a quiet, residential neighborhood.

Police arrested Strunk on charges of simple battery, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Authorities took her to the Alachua County Jail where she remains, as of press time, in lieu of a $30,000 bond.
