A student was arrested Wednesday afternoon for raping a woman at a party in a house near the UF Levin College of Law, Gainesville Police said.

The victim said someone  held the door shut and refused to let her out. The victim’s friend later told an officer that he was holding the door shut because he thought the victim was drunk and wanted to keep her safe, according to the report.

The victim was able to get out of the room, but Gonzalez Gomez found her and took her back to his room again. Once inside the room, Gonzalez Gomez took the victim’s clothes off, according to the report.

The victim said Gonzalez Gomez climbed on top of her and forced her to perform oral sex on him and then proceeded to have sex with her, according to the report.

She said she continually told Gonzalez Gomez to stop and attempted to push him off her, according to the report.

After Gonzalez Gomez was done, the victim put her clothes on and ran out of the room. She went to UF Health Shands Hospital’s emergency room where she told an officer about her rape, according to the report.

The victim said she had consumed beer and liquor the night of the party and was able to identify Gonzalez Gomez by name and photo, according to the report.

Gonzalez Gomez was arrested on a charge of sexual battery.

In an interview with an officer, Gonzalez Gomez gave mixed answers as to whether he had sex with the victim, according to the report.

Neither UF nor Santa Fe College was able to confirm Gonzalez Gomez is a student, as of press time.
