Gainesville Police arrested two men for allegedly possessing 11.5 pounds of marijuana and about 530 grams of marijuana wax on Tuesday.
Police charged Jordan Bass, 20, and John Kimbel, 20, with possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, manufacture and deliver.
At 6:08 p.m., a GPD officer conducted a traffic stop on the suspects for following too closely, according to the report.
When the officer had Bass and Kimbel exit the vehicle and stand in front of their patrol car, they noticed the suspects were extremely nervous and gave deceptive statements, according to the report.
The officer then deployed their trained drug detection K-9 officer, Jerry, to sniff the outside of the vehicle. Jerry gave an alert to the trunk, according to the report.
The officer searched the trunk and found five heat-sealed bags of marijuana, totaling 11.5 pounds, and about 530 grams of highly concentrated marijuana wax, according to the report.
Bass and Kimbel remained in the Alachua County Jail on Tuesday in lieu of $15,000 bail for each. They posted bond Wednesday through a bondsman.
