A man pointed a gun at five people while another punched two of them early Saturday morning, Gainesville Police said.
Tybyis Montravius Scott, 20, of Ocala, is accused cocking a gun with a laser and aiming it at a group on Northwest 16th Street, near Pascal’s Coffeehouse. Bryan Shane Combs, 21, of Citra, is accused of punching two people in the face, according to arrest reports.
Combs punched the men during an argument, causing a cut that needed stitches under the eye of one of the victims, the report said.
Scott pulled a gun with a laser from a car and pointed it at the group, the report said.
Scott and Combs got into a car and drove away, the report said. Roughly two hours later, police stopped the car on Southwest 13th Street and saw the gun inside.
Combs admitted to arguing and punching two people to police, the report said. He told police Scott took the gun and pointed it at the group.
Scott initially denied having a gun during the fight, but later said he pointed it away from the group, the report said.
Combs was charged with two counts of battery, according to the report. He was released from Alachua County Jail Sunday morning on a $5,000 bond. Combs could not immediately be reached for comment.
Scott was charged with five counts of aggravated assault and is held in jail in lieu of $100,000.
