College is costly, which leads to many students making financial sacrifices. However, with Gainesville’s selection of affordable boutiques, fashion does not have to be compromised due to student expenses. Here are some of the trendiest yet most affordable boutiques located in Gainesville.

1. Future Perfekt Vintage

Future Perfekt Vintage is a hidden gem, located at 1001 NW 5th Ave. The charming little boutique sells previously worn vintage clothes tailored to modern style at very affordable prices. Most items at the clothing store cost under $25 with items such as dresses, skirts, shorts, crop tops, flannels, jeans and accessories for men and women.

2. Sandy’s Consignment Boutique

Sandy’s is located north of campus on 13th Street and has been reselling trendy clothing in Gainesville since the ‘80s. The consignment shop closely resembles most retail stores and sells high-quality used clothes and furniture at affordable prices. Students can recycle their closets by selling Sandy’s old clothes and using the profit to buy new ones.

3. Urban Thread

Urban Thread has two locations in Gainesville: one shop is on University Avenue east of campus and the other is north on 13th Street. The vintage clothing shop is known for its friendly service, cleanliness and outstanding quality at low prices. The organized boutique sells clothing and furniture similar to Free People and Anthropology at a fraction of the price.

4. Flashbacks Recycled Fashions

Flashbacks is a used-clothing store and recently moved to 220 NW 8th Ave. The consignment shop contains a wide variety of clothing and home decor. The friendly staff will assist customers in finding anything from business attire to tailgate-ready outfits at a student-friendly price.

5. Slay Finds

If you’re in Gainesville without transportation, Slay Finds is a great option for online shopping in Gainesville. The Instagram account @Slayfinds showcases the owner’s collection of sport/vintage wear sold on the app Depop. The account is rated the top Depop seller in Gainesville and sells timeless unisex clothing pieces.

Buying new clothes at retail stores can be expensive, but allocating that money toward Gainesville’s local clothing stores is both sustainable and gets students more brands for their buck.
