A Jacksonville man was accused of stealing a purse six months after he was accused of stealing two rings, including a woman’s wedding ring, at a Holiday Inn. 

Kenneth Bernard Woodridge, 51, was accused of entering a woman’s hotel room at the Holiday Inn after she left the room for breakfast in February. 

She placed a do not disturb sign on her hotel door knob and left her diamond wedding ring on top of the dresser along with several other rings, according to the Alachua County Sheriff's office arrest report. The wedding ring was worth at least $10,000 while the other ring was worth $5,000. 

A sworn complaint was submitted on Feb. 18. Video footage shows Woodridge entering the woman’s hotel room while she was away, police said.

On Aug. 20, Woodridge was arrested after being accused of entering a different woman’s car and taking her purse at a Circle K in Lacrosse. The woman was parked at a gas pump when the incident happened, according to the arrest report. 

Surveillance footage shows Woodridge exiting the store, entering the victim’s car and then leaving in the car he came in, records show. 

Woodridge was charged with burglary grand theft unarmed burglary and grand theft of more than $500.

Woodridge is being held in the Alachua County Jail with a $50,000 bond.
