Renters Rights and Tenant Unions

(Gainesville, FL) On Tuesday, October 22nd (6:30 PM – 8:00 PM) ACLC invites you to our General Membership Meeting on Tenant Unions

Have you had disputes with your landlord over returning your security deposit? Do you know what your rights are as a renter? Are your utility bills too high? Do you feel landlords have discriminated against you based on your familial status (because you are a parent?), immigrant status, or source of income? The Labor Coalition’s and our Safe and Affordable Housing for All Campaign invites you to receive updates on the current city ordinance we have crafted to address these issues. Learn more about your rights as renters, and help us plan how to support the building of a bottom up movement to empower renters in Gainesville and Alachua County.

“You have rights even if you don’t think you do” says Reina Saco, lawyer with Florida Legal Services, “Even if you don’t know about them you have them.”
