Florida forward Dontay Bassett appeared in 61 games in three years with the program.

Florida forward Dontay Bassett has entered the transfer portal. The news was first reported by Stadium’s Jeff Goodman on Monday.

Basset is the fifth frontcourt player to leave UF through the transfer portal dating back to last season.

Gorjok Gak transferred from UF in December and Chase Johnson left the program in December 2018. Keith Stone and Isaiah Stokes proceeded to enter the portal at the end of the 2018 season.

Bassett suffered multiple setbacks this season, including a lower leg injury and bruised calf. Even when healthy, the Oakland, California, native was fighting for minutes behind Omar Payne and graduate transfer Kerry Blackshear Jr.

Keyontae Johnon, who was selected to the All-SEC First Team, also spent most of the season starting at power forward.

Bassett averaged 1.2 points and 6.7 minutes per game in the 17 games he appeared in this season.

For his career, Bassett played in 61 games and started in three.
