Baseball America revealed its 2021 recruiting rankings Wednesday, and the Florida Gators were in the top position as they lead the nation in top-50 and top-100 ranked prospects committed.

The Gators have nine top-100 commits, including seven in the top 50 of national rankings. This would be the first No. 1 ranked recruiting class since 2013 for Florida. However, the program has been ranked in the top five for a record eight consecutive years.

The Gators current 2021 commit list includes six five star prospects, such as RHP Andrew Painter, OF Jay Allen, RHP Chase Petty, RHP Brandon Neely, LHP Philip Abner, and INF Deric Fabian. Fabian is the younger brother of current Gator outfielder Jud Fabian.

The Gators are followed by Vanderbilt and LSU, rounding out an All-SEC top three with Tennessee finding itself in 5th.

The SEC, which has had the top recruiting team every year since 2013 from Baseball America, was dethroned last year by Miami’s first-ever top class. With four teams currently in the top five, however, the conference looks like it will regain its crown this year.

The rankings will not be finalized until September of 2021, but will continue to be updated until then.
