Florida heads north to Norfolk, Virginia, for its first matchup in program history against the  Old Dominion University Monarchs Friday.

The No. 10 Gators defied the weather twice for back-to-back wins against the Vanderbilt Commodores April 16 and 18

UF sits on cloud nine after it clinched the regular-season conference championship. The Gators boast an 8-0 AAC record.

The orange and blue were unanimously selected to win the conference championship before the 2021 season began.

The Cincinnati Bearcats swept the Monarchs last weekend, and Old Dominion won one of eight conference play to sit last in the AAC. However, the opponent shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Attacker Lilly Siskind leads the way offensively with 38 points. The sophomore recorded 27 goals and 11 assists in 15 games.

Attacker Claire Porter trails close behind. Porter amassed the same number of assists as  Siskind with 14 goals of her own.

Midfielder Caroline Shaefer prepares to meet midfielder Shannon Kavanagh in the draw circle. Shaefer won 44 draw controls compared to Kavanagh’s  70.

Kavanagh is an all-around threat on the field. The senior earned her first nomination to the 2021 Tewaaraton Top-25. The Tewaaraton Award honors college lacrosse players across the country with selection committees appointed annually.

The Smithtown, New York, native looks to break Shayna Pirreca’s record of 40-straight games with a goal this weekend.

Cara Trombetta received a nomination of her own. The fifth-year defender registered three ground balls and two caused turnovers in the Vanderbilt series. She recorded 35 total ground balls this season.

Florida holds a 5-2 road record and looks to add another game to the win column Friday.
