The Florida women’s golf team heads west to compete in the NCAA Regionals in Stanford, California starting Monday.
The NCAA Regional is composed of three rounds of stroke play to end on Wednesday. This week's regional is being hosted at Stanford Golf Club. The course is held in high regard and has served as host to U.S. Open Qualifying, Women’s NCAA Championships, Pac-12 Championships and the USGA Junior Amateur Qualifying.
The top six teams and three individuals not from those schools advance to the NCAA Championship.
The NCAA Championship will also be held on the west coast, at Greyhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, and is slated to begin May 21.
The Gators strive to advance to their 29th NCAA Championship. Florida’s last championship appearance came in 2019 after a strong effort in the Norman, Oklahoma, regional. Florida shot even par and finished in a tie for second. Texas ran away with the regional with an impressive 9-under-par tournament.
Florida’s most recent outing at Stanford Golf Club came last season at the Stanford Intercollegiate, where it finished in a tie for fifth.
The Gators’ regional features many daunting opponents. Three out of the 18 schools participating can be found inside Golfstat’s top-25 rankings, including No. 3 Wake Forest, No. 6 Oklahoma State and No. 10 Southern California.
Here is the full list of teams competing in the regional in order of their seeding:
