Gainesville woman arrested for child neglect, drug, weapon possession

Jessica Flones has prior convictions

Alachua County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Gainesville woman for child neglect and drug and weapon possession June 28.

Deputies served Jessica Flones a warrant at her home in the Majestic Oaks Apartments complex, located at 5800 SW 20th Ave., for alleged narcotics trafficking, according to an Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.

Deputies found a variety of drugs, including methamphetamines, cocaine and fentanyl, as well as two handguns, inside the 39-year-old Gainesville resident’s  home.

The drugs were “within reach of children,” according to the post and charged Flones with child neglect along with drug and weapon possession.

Flones has prior convictions for a 2011 theft and a 2015 hit-and-run.

She is currently being held at the Alachua County Jail with a bond of $750,000 for the alleged child neglect and a bond of about $3,000,000 for the drug and weapons charges.
