Clear bag policy to be enforced Tuesday at Sasse Board of Trustees interview

Same policy is used during football games

A clear bag policy will be in place during the Tuesday Board of Trustees meeting in Emerson Alumni Hall, where the board will vote to approve UF presidential nominee Sen. Ben Sasse.

This means purses, backpacks, briefcases and other items will not be allowed inside the building, according to the advisory statement from the UF News website. It’s the same policy as the one in place during game days, where gallon plastic bags are allowed inside, as well as small clutches.

This notice comes after UF President Kent Fuchs compared Oct. 10 protests during Sasse’s student forum event to the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection. More protests are expected on Tuesday from organizations such as UF Young Democratic Socialists of America, UF College Democrats and Graduate Assistants United.
