Fred Biondi shot a team-best 6-under-par 64 in the final round of the Ben Hogan Collegiate Tuesday. The Florida men's golf team finished ninth in the event.

The Florida men’s golf team traveled to Fort Worth, Texas, Monday and Tuesday to compete in its fourth tournament of the fall 2022 season.

As a team, the Gators sat in 14th at the conclusion of round one and two. Florida was 1-over-par. Then, on Tuesday in the final round, UF went 1-under-par to jump five spots and end the tournament tied for ninth.

Seniors John DuBois and Yuxin Lin paced the Gators shooting 1-over-par through the first 36 holes. They both sank back to back birdies to start the back nine on the par-4 10th and par-5 11th en route to 70s for their second set of 18 holes. DuBois went 3-under par on the back — finishing round two 1-over-par — and Lin shot 2-under par in round two.

They tied for 23rd individually at 1-under-par to finish round two of the tournament.

On the final day of the tournament, Biondi started strong in the final round at Colonial Country Club at 2-under par to make the turn. He holed back to back birdies on the Xth and Xth before sinking three straight to close out the round.

Biondi finished tied for 15th on the individual leaderboard and his Tuesday 64 is the second by a Gator senior this season — Dubois recorded one last week in SEC match play. It is the only time a Gator senior has done so with the last being former UF golfer Tyson Alexander in 2010, who earned his PGA tour card this year.

Posting his third top-25 finish of the fall, Lin finished T22. The senior used a 1-under-par outing on the front to end with a 70 and 1 over-par overall in round three of the tournament. Junior Quentin Debove wrapped up round three with his lowest score of the event, a1 over-par 71, to finish T47.

Senior Ricky Castillo struggled, shooting three straight over-par rounds. He placed T60.

The Gators combined a team score of 279 1-under par to make the final round move behind Fred Biondi’s  6-under-par 64. His round was the second lowest in the tournament, only a stroke behind Preston Summerhays’ 63 of Arizona State.

UF concludes its fall season at the Isleworth Collegiate hosted by the University of Central Florida in Windermere, Florida, Oct. 23-25.
