Gainesville man arrested in connection with double homicide shooting

Law enforcement made arrest Friday

A Gainesville man was arrested Friday for his alleged role in a Feb. 2 shooting that left two people dead and one critically injured.

Dallvion Parker, 28, is being charged with two counts of premeditated first degree murder, attempted murder in the first degree for discharging a firearm causing injury and attempted murder in the first degree for possession of a firearm.

The Gainesville Police Department arrested Parker for his connection with the shooting at 229 NW 3rd Ave, which is two blocks north of University Avenue.

At 1:40 a.m Feb. 2, Parker arrived at 229 NW 3rd Ave and fatally shot two victims, one of whom was Parker’s ex-girlfriend. He then shot a third victim three times and shot at a fourth victim before leaving, an arrest report alleges.

Prior to the shooting, Parker arrived unannounced to speak with his ex-girlfriend. Parker left after he told her he wanted a romantic relationship with her and she was only using him for gifts, the fourth victim told police, according to the report.

Minutes later, Parker returned wearing a mask and hoodie and shot his ex-girlfriend in the face, shot a second victim at least once and shot in the direction of the fourth victim.

He then went to the bedroom and shot the third victim multiple times. After, he chased the second victim out onto the porch and shot him until he fell down and shot him in the head, court records show.

GPD responded to a 911 call from one of the victims at 1:43 a.m. and arrived on the scene four minutes later.

From surveillance camera footage and tips from the community, GPD was able to locate and arrest Parker with help from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service.

Parker is being held in the Alachua County Jail with no bond set for the first two charges and bonds of $500,000 each for the last two charges.
