Previous UF resident assistant formally charged with sexual battery of a minor Friday

The former resident assistant’s uncle is his defense attorney

A previous UF resident assistant was formally charged Friday after being accused of raping an underage woman this summer.

Parker Siegel, 19, was charged with sexual assault of a person between the ages of 12 and 18. The woman was 17, according to court records. Siegel previously pleaded not guilty.

Parker’s uncle, Spencer Siegel, is his defense attorney for this case. Siegel’s lawyer has tried to get the case dismissed but the judge has yet to rule on this request, according to court records.

Siegel’s arraignment is set for Oct. 9. More information about this case can be found in a previous Alligator article.
